Our online communities are here to motivate and inspire you. Under learning spaces you can find inspiration to learn new IT-skills or update existing IT-skills. In Butterflies we create new online communities and find mentors for each group, based on topic ratings.
It only takes 2-3 people with a shared interest and to start a new online community.
Find your online community
We focus on providing high quality mentoring to fewer members. New potential members will be invited to an interview with two of our professionals working as mentor and coach. During the interview we will ask you about your learning goals and what challenges you have to reach these goals. The interview is a requirement to start as new member before joining an existing or creating a new online community.
The purpose of the interview is to make sure, we as a non-profit association have the required skills to help you in the best way possible.
Peer-to-peer learning with a mentor
Working with peer-to-peer learning in online communities, together with other members that share your interest in a given topic, will have the following learning outcome:
- Improved personal skills taking responsibility for personal learning goals
- Improved teamwork and communication skills, like writing user stories for test driven development.
- Improved problem solving skills that allow you to find solutions by yourself. You will work with both frontend and backend debugging tools, npm trends for modules, learn what web can do today and discuss pros and cons of different development tools and platforms.
- Improved architecture and security knowledge, being able to ask the right questions to find the balance between price, functionality and time. Using code review by peers, their evaluation and your own evaluation of how well you understand a subject, will give you a broader perspective on software developent.
Learn to work in a diverse team
Improved Danish social skills and cultural understanding, when working with your group mentor. English is required for professional work participation in the online communities and there is an expectation you have an interest in learning Danish for social conversions.
Work on open-source projects
Mentors have a background as senior developers, solution architects and technical project managers, with a broad general experience, that will allow them to facilitate learning in most any open-source project.
